I was speaking today at SEO howlers session at International Search Summit Oslo together with Andy Atkins-Krüger and Kristjan Mar Hauksson. We were trying to wake up the audience after lunch and I hope we done this well. It was quite fun (at least for me) and at the same time quite rewarding.
Following things were mentioned as SEO SEM howlers:
- URL rewrites (just take a look at elkjop.no product pages)
- Missing 404 pages
- Non existing pages returning 200 status
- Defending your brand reputation
- Supporting your offline campaigns online
- Doing the basics (titles, h1s, flash, etc)
- Use of negative keywords in ppc campaigns
I hope the audience enjoyed the session as much as I did :-).

Well if you ever wondered why there was so scilent here I tell you. We were intensively working on redesigning www.kvasir.no so I simply did no have time.
Now things are finally falling into the right place (still som bugs to fix) but you can check it out and make a seach.
By the way, it’s one of the first major Norwegian Internet services that validate XHTML Strict :-). Something I’m very proud to announce here.

You probably know about Google putting up a cookie on your PC with an unique identification number until the year 2038 and this is not a big secret, though many do not understand completely what it means.
And this is also possible that you have a creepy gmail account on top of that.
Well, these two in combination gives Google (and many other governmental agencies, and we are not only talking about those from USA, but from other countries as well) possibility to track back all your searches ever made with Google :-)
